PROJECT 1 :

ME , MYSELF & I

This is my first project when I'm getting into RUS104 class .

The main objectives of this project are to introduce students with basic sketching & drawing techniques, lettering, writing description and composing graphical images

AND

to introduce students with the importance and responsibilities of every actor in built environment .

So , in Project 1 , it was divide into three task which is Project 1a : Stewardship , Project 1b : Personal Logo and Project 1c : Virtual Portfolio .

PROJECT 1a : STEWARDSHIP

This is my first project in class RUS104 . I am not really good in drawing but at least I'm trying my best to finish my project .

In a piece of A3 cartridge paper , I describe more about my Personal Background , what will happen for Five Years Later and what will I do For Better Built Environment .

In addition , while I'm doing this project , I learn lot of things such as drawing skill , hatching skill and architectural lettering .

My architectural lettering was superduper SUCKS !

But in 3 years I'm studying here , I will approve my architectural lettering soon .

PROJECT 1b : PERSONAL LOGO

This is my personal logo that I created for my project 1b

" A R C H I O S I T Y " is made up by two words that is " Archi " which means my field in architecture and " City " and my tagline is GREEN GO WILD because I want to maintain our green life in the earth and make it more sustainable .

PROJECT 1c : VIRTUAL PORTFOLIO

We supposed to make a virtual portfolio as a medium of visual communication in sharing our studioworks with people and we was given to choose any type of blog provider such as blogspot , tumblr or wordpress .

PROJECT 2 :

NATURAL & MAN-MADE STRUCTURES

I've got another project this week that are I need to draw 2 type of drawing .

I need to find any natural and man-made structures in area USM campus then I need to colour it !

OMG ! I know I am not good in drawing and colouring but hmmmm I need to do it .

PROJECT 2a : NATURAL STRUCTURE

This is ' Pokok Kipas Palma' or Licuala Grandis for it's scientific name .

Actually I take this photo from google because I forgot to take my real natural structure photo and also I forgot to take my final drawing photo for my natural structure.

I found this tree in front of lecture hall E48A at HBP , this tree look very nice with it's wider leave so i decide to draw it on my A3 size cartridge paper .

PROJECT 2b : MAN-MADE STRUCTURE

I snap this photo in front of School Of Education Studies where is just behind of HBP .

This photo was not fully finished and I forgot to take a photo on then final drawing .

OBJECT CREATION :

A FREE-FORM SCULPTURE

Hey guys ! welcome to Archiosity again ! As usual , my new project for this week is A Free-Form Sculpture

Overall , I love in making this project because I can improve our ability in applying suitable elements and principle of design in producing a free-form object .

For this project , the theme given was 'Harmony'

Harmony for me is about music . Since I love a lot with music , so I decide to make a sculpture about the music . My sculpture title is 'The Notes' like you guys can see the picture above some quaver notes were arrange in sequence with size from big to small size .

I used modelling board to make the quaver shape because it is easy to shape it . I just used a knife to make the shape .

Then , to make it more beautiful and exclusive , I spray it with black colour because the notes all are in black colour . I did this spray 'session' in my room just you can see I put it on my shoes shelf . I did this a night before I' m going to Kem Pimpin Siswa haha

It was very cool man !

It's looks like WOWWWW ! thats awesome mann !

very smart and simple .

And that's all the process that I did in this project 3a : A Free-Form Sculpture.

PROJECT 3b :

OBJECT CONNECTION :

A COMFORTABLE CHAIR

Hello guys ! New project for last week was Object Connection that we need to design and make a model of a L-Shape Chair to put it at the corner beside HBP Office . Actually , Dr. Mazran said that this was a contest for us that for those who are win the best design for this contest , they will make the real one for the L-Shape Chair and put it at the corner beside HBP Office .

This was grouping project and I got 2 group members that were Chow Li Peng a.k.a Madam Penny and Amirul Hakim . We do this project in a week .

This was a L-Shape Chair that we had done for a week ago . It look very simple and nice and the detail to built this model is tooooooooo complicated . At the wall for the chair we put some green element to show sustainability on the chair.

So, that all about my post for last week project .

PROJECT 4 :

PRESENTATION DRAWINGS

For the last project was make a model for L-Shape Chair , and for this new project that I had done was presentation drawing . We need to draw 2 type of detail drawings based on the chair that we had design before. We were asked to draw axonometric drawing (1:20 scale) and perspective drawing (with human figure)

This was my axonometric drawing with 1:20 scale .

I had draw it with the real dimension for the L-Shape Chair and wit 5 type of elevation so that it's easier for the lecturer to check and look the detail design .

And this was my perspective drawing with human figure to show the real size of the chair following by dimension for the human .

This drawing was not to scale because it was a perspective drawing .

In this drawing also I made two type of perspective drawing that were one point drawing and two point drawing . For the drawing at my left side was two point perspective drawing and for the right side was one point perspective drawing .

I had learned a lot from this project while I'm doing it . I learned what is perspective and axonometric drawing and also I learned how to draw detail drawing for the structure .

PROJECT 5:

SENSE OF PLACE :

NEIGHBOURHOOD & COMMUNITY

Project 5 was a project for Urban & Regional Planning students but in semester 1 , we did all type of project . For this time , we need to do site analysis in two pieces of A2 cartridge paper.

In this project , we were given six differents of neighbourhood sites that are :

Bayan Residences, Relau, Penang

Sunway Mutiara, Batu Maung, Penang

Sunway Bukit Gambier, Penang

Siara 81, Sg. Ara, Penang

Sunway Merica, Sg. Ara, Penang

Setia Greens, Sg. Ara, Penang

All of this places were located around Penang and it just near from USM .

My group was decided to make a analysis at Sunway Merica, Sg. Ara, Penang .

What we did was we had a site visit at Sunway Merica , Sungai Ara and we did some observation on the environment at that site. We measured all the road in that place and identified the type of the road followed by road hierarchy . We also need to know all the empty spaces around the site what is the function for and we need to observe either there were any pollution or not .

This was my first board that I had made it in 2 weeks. All the information that I had during my site visit, I include it into this board. I show also the sun pathway and the wind direction on it to make it more clear about the site .

And this was mu\y second board that I need to proposed any improvement on the site .

So , I had proposed 5 things at Sunway Merica that the developer need to improve their neighbourhood site to make it more perfect with this suggestion .

Although this was the project for the Planning students but I as an Architecture student also need to know some knowledge of it so that I can apply it in my coming soon architecture project .

PROJECT 6 :

INTERGRATED PROJECT :

DESIGN & BUILD

' AN AMPHITHEATRE STAGE '

PROJECT 6a : AMPHITHEATRE STAGE DESIGN

An Amphitheatre is an open-air venue used for entertainment , performances and sports.
The term derives from the ancient Greek ( amphitheatron ) , from ( amphi ) , meaning " on both sides " or " around " and ( theatron ) , meaning " place for viewing " .

Dr. Hafizal said that Project 6 is our MEGA PROJECT .

I know why Dr Hafizal said that .

In this project , all the 7 major need to be cooperate in a team to make this project successful .

For example , designing team need to design an amphitheatre stage while non-designing team need to do the report for this project .

So, everyone should play their important role in this grouping project .

So, for my group , our designing team did our brainstorming to design a functional amphitheatre stage .

This was our first mock up for the amphitheatre stage but from this design ,

some lecturers said that we need to improve our design to make it more functionable .

We also asked Dr. Mazran about our design because he is an architect , for sure he knows all things about the design .

We had some crit from him .

Here, I did some perspective drawing for the amphitheatre stage to put it into A1 size board .

With this perspective drawing ,

I'm sure that people can know our design with detail and clearly.

It more easier for lecturer to understand about the complete design .

PROJECT 6c : PHYSICAL SCALE MODEL

Hello guys ! Fiuhhhh , we had such a superduper awesome holiday at Langkawi after we had some confusing , arguing and more about our last project , presentation board .

And now , we were given 2 weeks to built our stage model in scale 1:5 .

WOWWW ! It was 1:5 ??? the BIGGEST BIGGEST BIGGEST model we need to done and with our 32 hands we build our big stage model in two weeks .

PROJECT 7 :

EXHIBITION

Hey dude !

This was our second last project , in this project wee need to show off all the best project for this whole semester in our course exhibition .

We need to cooperate with our coursemate . I love this project because I can know each other in my course .

And the theme for the exhibition was ' FLOATING LINES '

Hmmmm, lets see how this ' Floating Lines ' works on this exhibition .

We were happy doing this because WE ARE FAMILY !

We are like siblings and our lectures are our parents .

PROJECT 8 :

LIVE PERFORMENCE

( LAST PROJECT )

Sometimes I feel so happy because this was our last project , we no need to do any studio project anymore buat sometimes I feel so sad because we were 7 courses had our time , study , doing our studio project together but in second sem , we will seperate in 2 which is Design and Non Design .

In project 8 , we were given to made a live performence follow by each course .

The best part was , the theme for this live performence was THE LOST KINGDOM

and Architecture student got theme SRIVIJAYA .
